Satellite EC Full Kit
Say hello to our first EC keyboard
Our tried and true Satellite is the first keyboard platform for exploring the EC world.
Up until recently, EC (Electro Capacitive) keyboards such as Topre, have been virtually off limits due to technical limitations.
We've now finished designing and manufacturing everything you need to build a whole EC keyboard (minus the keycaps). As usual, our products are actually in stock and ready to ship.
Bundle Discount
This kit includes a $12 discount, seen in the upgrade kit (PCB/plate and two packs of EC switches).
What's Included
- Satellite keyboard case (no MX PCB)
- Staebies stabilisers
- EC PCB and plate
- 2 packs of Naevies EC Switches (70 total)
Note: you will need to add your own Cherry MX keycaps and USB-C cable to complete your Satellite EC keyboard.
If you already own a Satellite and want to upgrade it to EC, grab the EC Upgrade Kit instead and an additional set of Staebies (or other stabilisers).
Build Instructions
See Lightning's comprehensive build guide on his website.
No soldering is required, only a screwdriver. Included are 2 bags of screws (one set for PCB, one set for plate) and 1 bag of brass standoffs.
- Install stabilisers onto the EC PCB - ensure you have the correct plate for a 6.25u or 7u layout.
- Install standoffs to the PCB using PCB screws.
- Place the plate on the stand offs, and screw in with plate screws.
- Insert Naevies EC switches into the plate.
- Calibrate the PCB with VIA (caniusevia.com). Here is a guide from the designer Cipulot - https://youtu.be/

Note - PCB Name and Revisions
We originally planned to only have one Constellation EC PCB to fit in the Satellite and Consty. Unfortunately due to an oversight, the o-ring pillars got in the way of the PCB.
This was launched as the Satellite EC but it is named 'Constellation EC' in the firmware/VIA.
The tradeoff for Consty support was losing the 7U space bar layout. If this is important to you, then grab a Satellite EC kit while stocks last.
