Get EC in Your Constellation

This 65% EC PCB is our second revision that supports the Constellation, with the o-ring pillar support. With this change, we have had to drop 7u support plate which was available with the first release, however the PCB still has the layout configurable in VIA.

The firmware and name that shows up in VIA will both be Constellation EC, and this PCB will be compatible with the Satellite keyboard as well.

It also has JST support so you can snap off the USB-C connector if you require daughterboard support.

Notes

• If you are using this kit with an existing Constellation or Satellite case, you will need Staebies or spare set of stabilisers to complete the build.
• This PCB also works in the Satellite case (loses 7U support).
• JST option included on PCB to support other cases.
• Split backspace, and multiple bottom row support in VIA.

Differences Between Satellite EC and Constellation EC

The Satellite EC Upgrade Kit and Full Kit listings contain the first iteration of the Constellation EC PCB. It had a fitment issue preventing it from working in the Constellation case, so we decided to launch this product as the Satellite EC.

Any listing with Constellation EC in the name carries the second revision, which has cutouts to fit in the case. The only other change is having to give up 7U bottom row layout, which is available on the first revision.

If you want a 7U bottom row, then you will need the Satellite EC, which can only be used with the Satellite case. 

Constellation EC Kits

Full Kit: The Constellation EC Full Kit contains everything you need to build a Constellation EC.

PC (Polycarbonate) Full Kit: The Constellation PC EC Full Kit contains everything you need to build a Constellation PC EC.

If you already have a Constellation EC PCB

Switches: You will need 2 packs of Naevies EC switches

Stabilisers: You will need 1 set of Staebies or other stabilisers.

Note: if you own a Satellite EC PCB, it will not be compatible with Constellation cases.

Build Instructions

No soldering is required, only a screwdriver. Included are 2 bags of screws (one set for PCB, one set for plate) and 1 bag of brass standoffs.

1. Install stabilisers onto the EC PCB - ensure you have the correct plate for a 6.25u or 7u layout.
2. Install standoffs to the PCB using PCB screws.
   
3. Place the plate on the stand offs, and screw in with plate screws.
4. Insert Naevies EC switches into the plate.
